Practical applications

The 5-gallon pressure tank is useful where demand starts and stops, such as outdoor taps or garden watering. Automatic boosting can make delivery more convenient than manual switching.

What matters when comparing models

Flow and pressure figures normally describe different operating points. Work from the required delivery head, pipe length, resistance and duty cycle instead of choosing by the largest advertised number.

Check before ordering

Verify suction depth, actual head and flow at the destination, pipe sizes, source-water suitability and the 120V electrical supply. The maximum published flow is not the flow at every installation.

Use and upkeep

Prime and install the jet pump according to its instructions. Keep the intake clear of sediment, protect the installation from freezing and monitor pressure-tank operation.
